Our Mission
Answers the question: What will we do?
What is the Mission of Hope Church?
Very Simply: Hope Church glorifies God by Sharing and Showing Christ in New Orleans and around the World.
What's the meaning & significance of this mission?
"We Glorify God..."
We glorify God as we become like Christ and as we worship Him alone:
- Following Christ and becoming like Him is the vision of every Christian and every church.
- Through our worship gatherings, we exalt God in Christ as the only One who is worthy of our worship.
The overarching value at Hope Church is the Worship and Glory of God.
"...By Making Disciples"
The two primary facets of disciple-making are:
- Sharing the Word/Christ.
- Showing the Word/Christ.
We desire to communicate in a simple manor what we believe Biblical Discipleship is all about in the tag line "Sharing and Showing Christ." God's Word calls us to "make disciples of all nations." We believe this involves getting up close to people in our communities and around the world to actively share the Word and show the Word.
Sharing the Word involves verbal expression both of the Gospel and about Christ's character. We want to teach people to live obedient lives according the God's Word.
The Gospel is this:
- God created man in His image. Man walked with God uninhibited.
- Man chose to walk away from God and into sin.
- God sent his son to redeem man from sin.
- When man embraces God's gift of Grace, God restores man's uninhibited walk.
Showing the Word involves modeling the Character and life of Christ to others by sacrificially serving other believers and our community. We believe the life of Jesus gives us a picture of how to express his Word and Character to others.
- He drew close to his disciples, especially Peter, James and John and poured into these men.
- He served the hurting and poor
